  • University of York Heslington, York YO10 5DD United Kingdom (map)

We look forward to welcoming you to the United Kingdom for the 9th International Conference on Social Work in Health and Mental Health in 2019.

Held in the historic city of York, the conference will provide delegates with ideas and inspiration about shaping the future for social work in health and mental health services in their own country. Drawing upon expertise from across the world, the conference will showcase the best social work research and practice innovations to inspire and excite delegates with new ideas and creative possibilities.

Please see below the call for abstracts for the 9th International Conference of Social Work in Health and Mental Health 2019 (icsw2019) to be held in York UK.

These conferences have played a special role in the life of INSWABI. INSWABI was launched at the 5th icsw in Hong Kong in 2006. The Executive Committee of INSWABI was established at the 6th icsw in Dublin in 2010.

At each conference we have a face to face gathering of up to a dozen INSWABI members. We have 2-3 streamed sessions with an ABI focus with up to 10-12 presentations on SW and ABI by INSWABI members.

In addition we have an INSWABI dinner
We normally organise a tour of a local ABI rehabilitation service as part of the conference program.

In addition to all the INSWABI events, members get to hear about the cutting edge of SW practice and research in the areas of Health and Mental Health
INSWABI members have also been successful in winning a number of icsw conference awards for the excellence of their presentations.

And the INSWABI executive committee have their triennial face to face meeting at the icsw conferences (The Executive Committee has met at Los Angeles (7th icsw) and Singapore (8th icsw).

Please let me know if you are interested in attending the 9th conference and submitting an abstract.
We normally coordinate the INSWABI abstracts
so that the conference organisers can then group the ones that are accepted into ABI-specific sessions.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,
Grahame Simpson
